Saturday morning we took another drive. I know I have shown lots of lake photos but I love, love taking photos on a windy day.
It seems that when it is windy the seagulls love playing by the mouth of the channel, riding the wind and dodging the waves.
We have another lake by us, a much smaller one compared to Lake Michigan.
Lake Macatawa. The lake is long and narrow and runs into Lake Michigan.
It is a bit more secluded but some seagulls where riding the wind, soaring high up into the sky perhaps fishing or just enjoying the sun that peeked from behind the clouds from time to time.
The sky was so beautiful..
and I even managed to get a shot of one of the Bald Eagles that was joining in.
Not the clearest photo, but one of these days I am going to get that "perfect" picture. :)
I also wanted to share a a little video with you that I found on YouTube.
It is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands;
"Cool Change" by The Little River Band.
The photos in the video are amazing!
To listen, just pause my music and my sidebar first. :)
Beautiful photos
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos..and it is just so cold and barren looking in the winter, isn't it? It is a kind of stark beauty that I think most Midwesterners can appreciate. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love that song, and all of your photos are perfect to me!

Beautiful! I have only been to Lake Michigan in the summer, so neat to see it during a different season. Each has it's own unique beauty. Thanks for sharing it with us!

The light house shots are just great captures. The waves rizing up like that are hard to get well and you aniled it. The sun shinning through the clouds must have been lovely on a cold windy day.
ReplyDeleteAnd little river band. I grew up with this stuff playing on my trannie in the 1970s.
Have a great week.

Great photos. Looks like the ocean with all the waves!
ReplyDeleteI needed this.
ReplyDeleteI am an ocean girl, having been brought up in California, but since I have been in The Twin Cities, I have come to appreciate and adore the lakes. My goodness Michelle, your photos are stunning. This was the getaway I needed this morning!!! Anita
I love watching the seagulls, my favorite place on earth is Brighton in England where you can see the seagulls and the ocean. Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteStunning photos, Michelle. It`s like nature in a very bad mood ...

These look so great, Michelle. The forth and the last ones are my favorites. Even though they have a cold wintery feel, they still kind of make me think of summer too.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are just amazing Michelle. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! these pictures are wonderful, Michelle! It's like the Glory of God is breaking through the clouds. You've captured it all to perfection.

Gorgeous photos - I really liked the ones with the birds flying way up high. Funny how we both took photos of Lake Michigan the same weekend. And there is NO WAY you are old enough to know who the Little River Band is. My favorite song of theirs is "Lady."
ReplyDeleteAwesomely inspiring photos, friend!!!
ReplyDeleteLove you - have a lovely week.
Hugs,
Marie
