Hello my dearies!
How are you this 5th day into the new year?
Today is my dad's birthday so I would like to do a shout out to him:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!
I Love you!
I have seen that a lot of you have got bitten by the "Winter/Early Spring Cleaning Bug"
All I can say is that it feels good to get organized!
I have also noticed that some of you are "cleaning" up your blog or just rearranging and making new headers, sidebars and such.
As you can see from mine, I have been working slowly on that as well and to help you out I wanted to point out a couple blogs that have given some great advice for the technical side of blogging as well as the emotional side, so to speak.
Kristin at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia posted some great tips on adding, changing and sprucing up your blog a bit as well as a link to Donna over at Funky Junk Interiors and her post about blogging etiquette.
Kat over at Low Tide High Style posted about the things that she has learned about blogging on a more personal side and has passed some of those on as well.
These wonderful ladies give great advice and if you have not seen their blogs yet, they are a must and they are very helpful! :)
I have purchased the wood for my daughters headbaord and I think that I am going with this one:

I really like star fish and I think that I can do those....I think...
I will be busy measuring, measuring again and probably again and cutting and hammering today and tomorrow.
Hopefully everything goes as I see it in my head and my piece of paper....hopefully...
Getting the lumber was interesting, lets just say you should not go to a home improvement store with a 5-year-old boy who likes to zoom on the lumber carts and hide in the isles and in between the wood while you are trying to find the things that you need.
Needless to say I picked out wood, had the nice man cut it for me, went to pay and when the nice lady told me $95.97 I about had another heart attack!!
Apparently poplar is priced per foot, NOT per board!! Oh I felt so bad, but there was no way I was spending that amount on wood, I would have purchased the shutters in the above photo first.
So I apologized about 100 times and told her that I thought it was per board. She was super nice and told me that that was fine, they will sell it.
But you may see this sign hanging in Home Depot near the lumber department!

Luckily I went to Lowes this morning, kid free, and got what I needed!
Until next time!!
