Ideas for the Bonus Room

Happy Monday my friends!
It was a busy weekend with sports and we weren't home hardly at all and I have lots to do,
BUT
 instead I am dreaming.
I have finished the wood graining process of the floor in my bonus room and now I have to stain and then put the trim up..crossing fingers that I can do that this week.

Here are some inspiration photos from Pinterest that I am loving for that room.
I would like something cozy, warm and peaceful.
Maybe a little on the romantic side too, we will see.
I love so many things and since my home is mainly sea-inspired I am thinking of taking this room in a bit of a different direction.

I have gathered some lovelies already and need to paint and sew some goodies as well.

Here is the color scheme that I am aiming for.

I love the lights with the shears!!

I have something similar to this, not as cool as a real one though.

Pinned Image

I have started to make a ruffled panel for the doorway.  We need something to cover the opening because in the winter the cool air comes down into the kitchen and makes it COLD!

Would love a rug like this.

I have my eye on a shabby chic floor lamp but not sure I want to spend the money.  They have some at Target and Meijer's that I can paint, but I want a ruffle shade for sure....love these!

So anyway, that is what is on my brain this week.
Now I guess I have to go clean and start staining the floor.

Have a wonderful Monday!!!

That will be beautiful! Like a prairie decor. I was stamping gift tags this weekend and one that I ended up liking(and not planned) was a winter prairie flower in wheat color. I think autumn always draws my dreams to the prairie countryside. ox

hi michelle, i love all of your inspiration photos and the first one is my favorite with the sepia and wheat tones + the blues of the sky...beautiful! i have been using very similar tones in my recent paintings. i must share with you, because i checked it out myself, that the urban outfitters rug, while really cute, has had some bad reviews. apparantly it mats down and looses the flower shape and looks like a rag...too bad. i sure am enjoying pinterest!

Such gorgeous inspiration! Sadly, our bonus room is full of testosterone and the ruffles would not go over well. But I am going to add them to my bedroom. I have had the stuff to make them for months! Need to get on that :)

That is some beautiful inspiration! I'm in l.o.v.e with that first photo, what a great color section. I'd love to have one of those shelves from Restoration Hardware too. I wish I lived near one of their outlets. Wouldn't that be great?! I can't wait to see how you pull the room all together :)

All those lights and candles w/ the gauzy curtain fabric - while beautiful - look dangerous to me. Be careful!

This items are perfection, I want every single one, especially those ruffles ones, the ruffles lamp is too much, they would all be an amazing addition to any house.
