Brightening Up My Least Favorite Job

Ever feel like there is just no where to hid from it no matter how hard you try??

Like it just creeps up on you with no warning at all?

UGH LAUNDRY!!!

Actually I don't mind the laundry, it is the ironing that I can not stand!!
Back and forth, back and forth with something that could burn the ever-loving tar out of you and no matter how hard I try, I can NEVER get the wrinkles out!

And then I have to look at
this??

Yikes!!

Well, thanks to my friend Tami at High Street Cottage I can now at least enjoy what
I am looking at!!!!

Looky at what I won!!!

(I love the key and card Tami, thank you! )

Isn't she pretty!??

Here she is all unwrapped and ready to go!!
(Excuse the mess, I am re-doing)

And here is am enjoying time with her!!

I love looking at her and now ironing is more enjoyable thanks to
Tami!!! :)

Now I just need a room as pretty as she is to put her in!

hhmmmmmm.......

just kidding...

or am I???

Haha, the only time I pull out my iron is when I am working on a sewing project and need to iron the fabric! And that's not that often! I haaaaaaate it with a passion! I'm currently refluffing clothes in the dryer so I don't have to iron them! :)

I found your blog a few days ago, added it to my reader and read all the way back through it! I starred several things to go back and read or try later! Love it!

Guess I should go get those clothes out of the dryer! But here's another dirty secret- I usually just lay them out on my couch (it's a big sectional so still room to sit!), and leave them to wait until my mom comes over to fold them! She's been coming about once a week since I had my baby and actually TELLS me to leave laundry for her to do! Not a problem with me! :)

Have fun ironing on your adorable ironing board!

You are adorable . . . blog looks great. I HATE ironing. Pretty much because it doesn't seem to look any better when I am finished! Maybe I need a fancy cover as well!

I am glad you won something that is pretty and makes you enjoy yucky ironing. I rarely iron. I do more in the summer when I wear shorts. Heck if summer would just get here I might not mind ironing.

Congrats on the win!

Laundry is my most dreaded shore too. And I don't even iron! I don't own an ironing board to not give anyone any crazy ideas. Once in a while I'll have no choice to iron one of my husband's shirts and I do a quick once over on a towel on the kitchen table. :)

Oh Michelle, you look so adorable! I'm so glad you like it, I love the little extra bag to hold starch, or water etc. Thank you for being one of the nicest people in blog land. When I visit other blogs too, I see kind comments you've left on their blogs. I don't know how you find the time, but you do, and it's very much appreciated. xoxo tami

Oh, my friend, I think I got you beat! I still iron on the same ironing board with the same cover that belonged to my parents! My memory of it goes back to at least middle school so we're talking 20+years ago! Now, I feel so ashamed that I'm just going to have to go buy a new one! Oh shucks...I guess that means another trip to TJ's! :-)

P.S. I'm usually frowning a lot more when I'm ironing...you look pretty cute!

I actually love to iron - well, at least I don't mind it. But I don't have a pretty cover like that. Hmm - might have to consider an upgrade! Enjoy!!

Everything is better when it is pretty...even ironing. I DON"T iron. My kids and hubby(on occation) iron their own clothes...and when they weren't old enough to we just all wore wrinkled clothes.

hallo! I jumped into your blog via "somewhat simple" and was thrilled by everything. Your blog is soo nice, your restyling works amazing, your love for coastal style similar to mine, your life experiences really touching, I'm very glad I found you and linked you to my craft blog.

Lucky! What a pretty cover! My ugly board could use one too. You look completely fabulous my dear :)
Thanks for your sweet comment today! We totally need to go antiquing!!! Next time we make our way across the lake I'll let you know! That would be super fun!!

I'm glad to see there are others who don't iron. Hubby actually irons more then I do. I fluff in the dryer! I do have a board and was looking for a new cover. Her shop doesn't seem to be open yet :( I do use it when I'm sewing and it hangs on my laundry room door so I wanted it to look descent! n

i can NEVER get the wrinkles out either! it's just an impossible task - ironing. the new cover is so pretty...how nice that you won it!

Sarah @ Modern Country Style said...

No doubt in your next post you'll be writing about how you knocked up a new laundry room out of old cardboard boxes and painted it with your hands tied behind your back and it'll look STUNNING!!!!

Yup, I'm jealous of your ironing board cover. It's so lovely.

LOL! Kerrie's comment just had me laughing out loud, Michelle! Oh my goodness!

Congrats on winning that pretty cover, sweetie! Tami wrapped it up so thoughtfully. :)

OK. Please tell me you are NOT ironing your sheets.....You will indeed put me to shame.

To tell you the truth, since I'm either in yoga pants or jeans, I never have to iron until it's time to pull an outfit together for church on Sunday morning. lol! Unfortunately, everything I pull out of my jammed packed closet needs to be ironed because it's so crammed in there. {And don't let hubby fool you. He's got almost as many clothes as me.} lol!

Love ya to bits!

xoxo laurie

I am not a big fan of ironing either. I always seem to put it off until it is absolutely necesary. I then have such a large pile it takes so long to finish! Love your new ironing board cover. Much prettier to look at than a plain cover.

Pamela said...

Thats a great cover Michelle! I hate ironing as well so most of the time everything just gets plopped back in the dryer!:)

Holly Lefevre said...

That is beautiful. When you make things pretty in makes such a difference in your outlook, eh? OK, now I need to remember that!

Love the new cover. I think the ugly ones should be banned. Pretty ironing board covers only - except for blokes who have to do their own.
Mine is ugly. One day I'll try and make a new one.

Cheers,
