Hutch Reveal

Hello all! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!! I know that I am enjoying the change in weather! The kids start school tomorrow and they are excited and nervous.

This weekend I began to finish up some details in the kitchen. One of those not-so-small details was the hutch.

This is what it looked like before...

and now....

I really love it! It just makes all the white pottery pop out!

The color is call "Wood Smoke".

I had talked about the "Sharky Gray" but that color had more of a purple tint to it.

I sanded it a bit to get that worn feel.

You can see that I painted the hinges, which is probably a no-no but I tell ya, I looked EVERYWHERE for those stinken H-hinges and the only place I found them was on the internet for $20 each......um....painting them was the better option here. But I did get new knobs and pulls for it!

I put my flea market find (the Pet Milk Co box) on top as well as other finds that I "shopped" for around the house.

The kitchen is almost finished!!!! I can't wait to show you some other details that I have added and after I get everything cleaned up and get the kids out of the house so I can take pictures without all their things scattered all over, I will reveal my new kitchen!!

OH and my reward for all my hard work.....

a nice fire and hobo pies!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmm......apple!!!!!

I am linking up to the parties on my side bar!

Just stopped by from BNOP linky party. I am enjoying all of the inspirational blog posts, including yours.

Wow, that looks fabulous. I liked it pretty well before the makeover but the darker color makes everything pop on it.

Well it looks wonderfully fresh and clean. I love the milk co box on top also. I don't know about you but I can't get enough of those boxes. Love it. I also love the white pitchers. I have started collecting them also and I just love when I find one for a deal. I have enjoyed visiting your site. Lisa

Hey Michelle! What a transformation! I liked it white....but I love it gray! It really warmed up the piece and your room as well. The white pottery pops, and the Pet box does, too! You merchandised the hutch just perfectly, friend! :) Oh, and thank you so much for popping into my blog on a regular basis! I really love hearing from you! :)

The hutch looks awesome..., and I didn't even notice the painted hinges until you mentioned them, haha! On our corner hutch we "restored" the hinges, sanded off old paint and polished them, but there were only 4.

Reading about your girl friend..., I thought, isn't it funny that pursuing ones dream sometimes results in "leaving" best friends. This was true for me also (the other way around though) when I relocated to the US. In my case, out of the three relationships, only one survived.

You're right, the hutches are practically identical. Very cool color, and I love the beadboard on the back. Nice meeting you, Michelle. Thx for stopping by.

I have a hutch nearly the same that I am doing up! Mine has glass doors in the middle though and only 2 doors and 1 drawer at the bottom...
Yours Looks great...

I love that color! What is the brand? I just did a post on a re-do at my booth using a soft gray table. I was so impressed with how great everything looks against that color. We did a vignette with whites and creams and silver and a bit of bronze. Your hutch has that same feel. Don't you love it!?!

I'm so glad you linked to my party!!!
