So I Married a Younger Man!!

Happy Monday to you all, I hope that you had a great weekend!
We were busy painting and then did a little more painting and then some more painting!!
I forgot how much a pain it is to paint the ceilings!!
But,
the good news was that my wonderful hubby helped me so we were able to get more done.
The funny thing is the last time we painted this room, it is a big room with textured walls, he swore up and down that he would NEVER paint this room again!!
Never say never honey!! :)

Speaking of my darling husband, today or tomorrow or somewhere in between he turns
10 3/4!!
Yes, I married a younger man....lucky me huh? :)
It is his unbirthday birthday as I like to call it.
He is a leap year baby and actually he does act his "Age" at times! :)
Anyway, we celebrate it either today or tomorrow or both if he so inclines.
A fun thing about his last actual birthday was that he and my daughter both turned 10 in the same year! They were even in our local newspaper! My daughter thought that that was the coolest thing!

So anyway,
Happy Unbirthday Birthday my love! I love you more than you know!!!
And thank you so much for helping me paint this weekend.
I love you!!

Let me show you some of out handy work...

It started as this.

And after
this...
(probably would have been smart to put a hat or something on, but it did wash out)

(creepy picture, I know)

this...
(every time! I don't know how they do it but every time!!_

and this..
I thought he was going to suffocate so I poked holes in the plastic for him! :)

We got this..

this..

and this.

I still have to finish the hall and entry way but that won't take too long.
I absolutely love the Simple White from BM, it is perfect!
Thanks Kat! :)

I am so sorry I have not been around lately to visit, I have been so crazy busy with not only painting this weekend but my little guy was sick last night, he feels better today but still not his best and my daughter has basketball, a choir concert and dance this week as well as my volleyball, finishing painting, laundry, cleaning blah, blah, blah and work!

Someone please stop the this ride, I would like to get off!!

Oh well, I am usually the cause of most of my stress, but please forgive me.
And to those that I sent emails to and visited your blog last night, I am really sorry if I made no sense! I was tired and had sniffed too many fumes I think!

I love you all and I will catch up one day!

I will be back later with some questions for you!

I also wanted to thank Roeshel of The DIY Show Off for featuring my bedroom this weekend!
Thank you so much Roeshel! If you have not, please visit her wonderful and inspiring blog, you will leave with so many new ideas!!

Have a wonderful week!

It looks beautiful!!!! Every home I've lived in has been new so I have always just left the walls white because I love white! After two yrs. here at Sea Cottage my kids begged me to paint their rooms...so we do have one room that is a beige and another a sea blue. The sea blue is too bright for me so it will be painted white again as soon as my daughter moves out. But the beige is so pale and comfortable that I think it will stay. It has been so fun watching you transform your home into the coastal style. You will love the white, I am sure of it! ox

What a cute post Michelle:) It took me a minute about the 'married a younger man" thing, but then I had me an 'aha!!" moment, lol! Love the room painted, so worth all the aches, pains and spatters!! Happy birthday to your young man!:)

those pictures are hilarious- the cat is cracking me up! and your hair looks awesome! my husband did that once priming a bathroom and he didn't realize how much primer would stick... he had white spots in his hair for days!

I think you should have left a little paint in your hair. You know...highlights :) I hate painting ceilings with a passion. It's the 5th wall that gets ignored in our house. What a difference it makes though. Nice to have a younger man to help out. Happy un-birthday to your hubby! It's looking great! I am drooling over the doors that lead to your family room. Gorgeous!
Have a good week sweet girl! Don't work too hard! xx ~M

Wow, you're going like gang busters on all these projects and everything looks great! I love that "source unknown" photo from your last post, those bookcases are fabulous.

Loved the story of your two 10-year-olds from last year, what a great family story that will make for years to come.

I'm going to start calling you the Energizer Bunny, glad you have a "younger" man to keep up with all your projects.

Can't wait to see the results!

Hi Michelle! It's been so long - life is just crazy sometimes! I love that picture of your cute kitty - I would have poked holes too! It must be refreshing to have bright new walls in your family room! We downsized our tv last week and I feel like I got new brighter walls but we really just reduced the size of the huge 'black box' in the room. Beats painting I guess ha? I had my hubby get rid of all of the cob webs by the ceiling after the new tv arrived (should be his job, he's tall enough to reach!) and I feel like I have newly painted walls! Your room looks great though ;)

MICHELLE!!!!! THIS IS MARVELOUS! I LOVE THOSE DOORS GOING INTO YOUR ROOM...you have the same light walls as I do! You look great even with paint in your hair!!! AND THE CAT!!! Sheesh, you are going through what we have been going through...but we are done. Just some small fun details...but waiting really to pay off the man....then MORE FUN!!! Oh dearest, my email was WIPED OUT!!!! So that means you address is gone....I will find out tomorrow if I can even get it back running. In the mean time, YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!! Bises, Anita

Everytime I tell people my birthday is Feb 28th, they always say, are you a leap year baby? And I tell them, no that is the 29th, blah, blah, blah! Too funny that really is the hubby's bday. I understand, I am behind in everything and I haven't even painted anything! Glad you poked holes for your cat and glad you got the paint out of your hair! Everything is looking great, can't wait to see more! Take care, Laura

Happy B-day to the *younger* one!
Jamie is 5 years younger than I ;-)

Those panel doors are to die for!!

You wouldn't believe how many walls, and ceilings we have painted over the last 12 years.
That's why I was tickled pink (or i should say, JAMIE was tickled pink, ha!) when we moved into this tiny apartment with ALL white walls & trim!

I Swore I would NEVER paint another wall again!
Unless it was a different shade of white, haha...

Painting a WHOLE apartment, just to have to re-paint it back when we moved, was exhausting!
Did that a few times over the years!

Can't wait for an update!

Funny about your younger husband. Glad your little one is feeling better. Hope you get to time to unwind soon.

I think with kids the roller coaster ride never ends - we are constantly in a state of motion. Our bout with the flu slowed us down and it was o nice actually.

Will you come paint my ceilings? The Spring is lovely and sunny here and you can hear the ocean waves crashing from my house. I have to paint the kitchen/living/dining room - 3 different shades of white and they all meet up and I want to paint the ceiling in the family room...UGH!

Your home is gorgeous and you did a beautiful job.

I also love that your furry children are taking their jobs as project supervisors to heart!:) That is too too funny that the cat stayed under the plastic. My Sophia would have done the same with a look of why are you bothering me.
