What is Emerald Cove?

When I started this little blog I really had no clue what I was doing!!
I knew that I wanted to try to promote my jewelry (which I have not done in ages) and had heard from several sources that having a blog is a great way to get the word out.
So, I signed up!
I made a few posts about jewelry and what a pain it was to figure out the finance part of a home business, but then starting seeing all these wonderful and glorious blogs about the sea and beach and decorating and I instantly fell in love!!!

I have always loved to decorate and fiddle with things in the house but never beyond my wildest dreams did I know that you could talk about it with people that love it too!!

The first blogs that I came upon were Maya's Completely Coastal and Marie's Sally Lee by the Sea, then I found Kat at Low Tide High Style, Melanie at The Frosted Gardener and Rene at Cottage and Vine.

I. WAS. HOOKED!!!

Ok, Michelle, you are not really defining your blog!??

I know, I am trying! This was way harder than I thought! :)

I know that I love to decorate and I looooove the sea and combining the two has been so much fun thanks to all of YOU!!
YOU inspire me and honestly gave me the courage to do the things that I do.
Ok, combine that with a love of painting everything and I have had the best year!!!

So, how do you define all that?
Here it goes....

My goal for my blog is to show you who I am through my love for

Family

God

Friendships

Decorating

and whatever else my wonky little heart comes up with that day while somehow tying all those into the place where I feel the most at peace....

the sea.

Ok, so maybe that is not really a definition and it is a bit scattered-brained, kind of like me, but I will fully embrace it and use it to the best of my ability. :)

And like my header says, I just want to find the simple joys in life and that is what I hope that I can do and not only learn from you but show you as well.

Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for following me along, commenting, lifting up my spirits, giving me friendship and love and the courage to open up my heart, mind and eyes to see all the beauty that is everywhere and showing me that there is still good in this world.

It is so hard to define, but you've done a great job Michelle. Is gonna be a great party. I think at the bottom of my definition I need a "subject to change" clause.

It is not always easy to define yourself , because to define your blog is basically to describe yourself , isn't it !?..You , Michelle, did a great job!Warm , thoughtful, positive and grateful is your 'blog'!

Oh dearest, blogging has been such a source for defining my mission in life, really! Because WRITING is an important skill and key to understanding your mind. Reading fills your mind, talking about it makes you ready and writing makes you exact- Sir Francis Bacon.

Now, time gives us even more surprises; I have been blogging for two years now, and every 3-4 months, I begin to see even more reasons to write. The best thing about it however, are the people you meet along the way; some are passersby, some become great pen pals, and others become MUST-MEET FRIENDS for life. What a blessing it all has been, non?

Wishing you a lovely day my sweet friend, Anita

I love your blog, Michelle! And you are such a sweetheart!

When I first started blogging (a whopping few months ago;)), I was wanting more of a decorating blog. BUT, since we are still in our rental, it has become more food based. Which I am not so sure I like. Hopefully the weather will warm up, and I can start redoing my furniture! Those are the projects I LOVE!!

You and your blog are wonderful!

Maybe it was a bit "wonky", but I GET it! I just wish that all of us in Blogland were neighbors so that we could all get together regularly and hang out! Considering I live in New Brunswick, Canada, kind of hard to, I guess, lol!

Gorgeous post, gorgeous blog. There are a few Coastal inspired blogs I visit, being a California Native, who's lived a great deal of her life by the Sea. I now miss it, and find a good visit to Emerald Cove tends to make me miss it less. Not to mention, it's Author. xxx tami

Michelle,
You have lots of space for experimenting with a title like, Emerald Cove. You never want to limit yourself too much...eventually, when you get through your house phase, you can also include some posts about your jewelry again :)

I think you have done a wonderful job defining your blog, Michelle! I can't even seem to form a correct definition for mine, so I am reading versus writing this time! :)

But really and truly, your blog is one of my most favorite places! It is always uplifting and inspiring, always truthful, and of course, always beautiful! :)

I hope you have a lovely day, my friend!

Emerald Cove...
even the name is so fitting of you...
your blog is a cove,
a safe place,
a haven.
Its "emerald-like"...beautiful and pure
and theres a precious jewel who lives here.
Its a place where the sweetest girl pours out of herself to others on a continual basis,
giving of herself to others,
and who blesses us over and over again,
and inspires us to not only dream dreams,
but to run after them and see them realized n our lives,
its a place where deep friendships are born
and nurtured and treasured.
You are such a true blessing to me my sweet friend and I thank you...with all my heart xo
Love you dearly xoxo

I like that term — wonky, it's even better than quirky. Well, now you must know that I adore your blog because of you. You're such a sweetheart and I'd read it no matter what you posted about.

I adore blogs that mix it up, you never know what you'll find. We all have so many different facets to our personalities and while we each post about our favorite things, it's nice to see the other sides of the person also.

Have a wonderful weekend, I hope those breezes are still coming in your windows!

I love your inspiration and how your home is so welcoming and comfortable. You amaze me with each project! Keep it up!

I am definitely having a difficult time in defining my blog as it goes every "wonky" direction but it is a reflection of me, my lift is going in a bazillion directions right now. I intend to enjoy the ride!

Hi dear Michelle
I know we are 'new friends' but I was instantly at ease with your calm happy style and find many things to love here... our mutual love of sea.. and my long term 'want' of a beach cottage.. hahaaha...

I don't think my blog has any specific style.. all over the shop.. but it's a process yes?? a journey of discovery..

Have a lovely weekend.. glad to have discovered you.. ciao xxxx Julie

Completely Coastal said...

Funny Michelle that you'd write about this... it took me about an year to define what my blog was supposed to be about. It didn't start off at all with featuring crafts or interiors..., more like random coastalness! Until I discovered all the blogs that wrote about decorating and crafting..., and then I wanted to make a little income for myself too..., so I pretty much deleted a hole year of "weird" posts (always been a slow bloomer, haha). But it is good to think about it, know what's important and know why you do what you do.
I'm so glad you're around!!!!
Hope all is well!!

Michelle; You totally are meeting your blog goals! You have been such an inspiration to me, a friend (and I barely have even talked to you in the couple months we've known each other in blog-land) and I also feel peace not only at the ocean, but when I read your blog! You convey that peace to your readers and you also make us laugh and make us feel like we're lucky to be your friend.

I just realized that I somehow did not have you on my list of favorite blogs and so I added you! Thanks so much, you are the best :)

Great post! I think a great many of us who started a blog at least a year ago might say that there blog started for one reason but has not evolved into something entirely different. I know why I started a blog but somewhere in the middle I lost track of that and I'm know trying to find my way back!

The house itself is lovely. The views are devine. I agree about the emerald cove. I don’t care for the orange at all. I don’t think I care for the style of the stager overall as I feel the house could be SO much more. But that’s just me.
