Fun Faux Coral

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend!
The weather has turned on us here and it has been raining and cold all weekend!
UGH!
Hopefully the sun will come back soon because I was so loving it!!

My friend Kindra from At Home With K sent me this post that Beth from The Stories of A to Z did on faux coral.

They are in the pet section at Walmart and are only $8.88 each which is far less than what I have seen in other places.

So, I ran to Walmart and picked up my little goodies!!!

I was so excited that I forgot to take before pics and after the first coat was applied I quick snapped a picture. :)

The faux coral were red, green and orange.

PREEETTYYYY!!!!!

I already had the paint, lots of white spray paint...LOTS!
(sorry about the picture, I painted in the basement and we do not have great lighting there)

After about 5 or 6 coats of white primer and white paint I placed them on my mantel.

However, I was not digging them there or the bright white so I took them back downstairs and gave them a couple coats of a creamier white that I had on hand and this time found them a new home in the kitchen under my cloche.

Much better!!!

The Keep Calm and Carry on sign I won over at Blessedmom's Simple Home a while ago. Marcia is so sweet and her blog is just beautifully filled with her photography, family and love.

I also wanted to wish my mom a very Happy Birthday today!!
I won't tell you how young she is but I will say that I am praying that I look this beautiful when I grow up. :)

Thank you for all that you have done and all that you continue to do for me.
I couldn't have accomplished what I have with out your guidance, support, friendship and love.

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Your faux corals look better than my real corals...
mine became a little brownish and yellowish in color, but thanks for the spray paint tip maybe I should just buy a white spray paint.

The pic with your Mom is lovely,
you're blessed to still have her around. Mine passed away a few years back and my life was never the same without her.

GOOD MORNING GORGEOUS! First of all, what a great BUY! Secondly, your choice to repaint them a softer white and put them under the cloches like old specimens REALLY ADDS AUTHENTICITY!!!! I LOVE THEM THERE! AND THEN....your mom. Oh dear, what a beauty!!! She is stunning indeed and exudes that YOUNG confidence that I want too!!! We had RAIN, WIND and COLD on Saturday, but yesterday the sun did come out but with a breeze. WE REBELLED AND JUST WENT OUT ANYWAY to the lakes and enjoyed the sights!

Have a peaceful and fruitful day dearest Michelle! Bises, Anita

I was actually at walmart a while back looking at the fake coral, but I thought it would never work, so I didn't buy it. I'll have to try it again, though. Beautiful pic of you and mom! Have a great week mein Freund.

Michelle, what a cool idea. Growing up my Mom had this huge coral we sat on the coffee table, who would have ever ever known it would be so popular now. And it was white. I can't recall where she got it, but she loved things like that.

Hi Michelle,
Love the faux coral, it's gorgeous! I brought some real coral back with me from Mexico this year, black coral...I was amazed they let me bring it into Canada. Last year they confiscated the coral I tried to bring back. Luck of the draw, I guess. Now I know why you're so gorgeous!
Just like your Mom!
