Painted Tables

I have been moving at snails pace lately with the family room but I did manage to get some sofa tables painted yesterday.
The weather has been icky here so it is easier to stay inside and get some things done.

Here is my table all painted up with pretty colors that I found (I love test paint samples!!)

Sorry about the picture, it has been very gray and dark around here.
But you can see all the different shades of blues that I love.

I eventually picked the top middle one, Sea Spray by Glidden, which now that I think about it was one of the choices for my room. Huh, I guess I really like that color! :)

Anyway, after I purchased a quart I came home and looked at my two tables in the family room and decided to go with this instead

Yup, white!
I am really liking how clean the white is with the gray and the new floor so I kept it neutral.

I am going to use the Sea Spray in other things, you know me, nothing goes unpainted! :)

I also purchased a new lamp shade! I was so excited because the old one was falling apart and yucky. It was the shade that the lamp came with, sorry no before pics.

I purchased it at Target and I love the "waves" that it has. The texture is fun and the white looks bright and clean! :)

I also went yesterday to pick up some blue ticking fabric to make pillows. I don't know why but I am drawn to the darker blues with this room, They just feel right.

My goal for the rest of the week is to attempt to make some pillows.
We will see how that goes!

Have a great week!!

Oh I am so glad you painted the tables white! You will never tire of white, but the color you will. I painted several pieces of furniture in 'sorbet' which is a pale sea blue about five years ago and only two small pieces remain that color. We just tired of them. The large dresser is now black and looks so much better. I have learned that I never tire of WHITES, sand(natural, beige), black, and wood. I really like the material for the pillows. I think you might be drawn to the darker blues because they go so well with dark brown and white. I just purchased some toss pillows from Target online by Rachel Ashwell in British Rose...only $23.00 for two! I have six seat covers in the same pattern from way back when they used to carry it in the stores. I wanted to decorate our trailer the 'Pearl' in the British rose pattern but when I went to buy, it was gone! So I decorated in the Rosalie instead. Love, love, love your transformation!!! ox

white is just right! it gives you something to always have a cool accessory like the boat to show off, rather than being the show off itself.

That is too funny Michelle! I was just thinking about summer centerpieces (I know, I need help), and I was thinking of either a blue and cream checked, or a blue ticking tablecloth or runner, with some sort of vintage white bowl full of lemons. So when I saw your blue ticking I had to laugh. Have a great day:)

Everything is looking just absolutely gorgeous Michelle! Soft and serene and oh so "emerald cove"-ish. :-) I love those tall topiary type plants you have on the table too...where did you get those?

I like the white too... although I've been searching for a new end table that I could paint a soft "dusty aquaish" color! The ticking stripe is fun and I'm looking forward to seeing the results for the pillows!

Oooo... the dark floors with the light colors looks so rich! Love the lampshade! It reminds me of waves. The windows by the front door look like they lend a lot of light to reflect the white table. Great choice! I can't wait to see the entire room! Yay, Shells :)

I was thinking the other day of a couch I bought at a garage sale for $60 twenty years ago. It was blue and white ticking, and I made pillows to match it. Loved that couch! I donated it to the victims of a tornado in Oklahoma. Love your blues! I'd have chosen the same shade, but love the white table.

Everything is coming together so nicely! I learned a long time ago, when in doubt, paint it white. I think you made the right choice.

I do the same thing!!! I'll unknowingly pick colors for other people that are the same colors in my own house! I try not to...it just happens.
Anyway, I think we have the same couch! I even made pillows out of the same ticking!!! What is going on?? We must be long lost sisters or something :)
P.S. I love those topiaries!! Did you buy or make?
Love how this is coming along!

I love that lamp shade. I'm going to have to visit Target's lamp section :-)
My mom just gave me an old ticking pillow she had. I slept on it as a child, as I always wanted a feather pillow. She saved it because my grandmother had made one for each of her grandchildren out of an old feather bed she'd had. She was an industrious lady and didn't want to waste anything. I think the fabric must be from the 40's. It's hard to believe it lasted this long :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
P.S. I'm asking everyone to pray for my nephew. He was seriously injured in Afghanistan yesterday. So if you think of it, can you pray for Jordan?
Thanks so much :-)

Looks great in white. You are like me and try all those samples! The new shade is pretty, I almost picked it up myself. But I needed two which they didn't have. Love the talk skinny topiarys too.

It's looking good, Michelle...I've been painting right alongside you...I spent yesterday painting Sherwin Williams' Sterling Blue--it's a beachy, pale aqua that freshens a room...love how clean it makes me feel! Your white table is, no doubt, doing the same for you!

Hi Michelle
It's all coming together beautifully. The floor boards look great. You are right about the texture of the lampshade. Stunning. I love your choices of blue too. I am mad about blue at the moment. Can't wait to see how you use the one you purchased. Have a great weekend.

Hi Michelle!

I think things are coming along so well, not slow at all! I love what I see of your floors, and can see why you went with the white for your tables! The contrast is so pretty! And the lampshade is perfect, and I think that the blue ticking will make such beautiful pillows! I can't wait to see them! :)

I hope your weekend was wonderful!

Blessings,
