Hello to you my friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to soak in as much summer as you could.
I know as we enter fall our friends down under are getting ready for Spring and I hope the warm sun is brightening up your days.
My kids went back to school today and I have to say that it is a bit odd having the house to myself.
Don't worry, I will get used to it....... :)
So this morning I took advantage of no kiddos around to finally take some photos of the shark room!
(sorry about the photos, his room faces north and we live in the woods so not much natural light comes through)
I can't believe this has taken me all summer and to be honest I am still not done.
I have a few more projects up my sleeve for the room but I won't drag this out any longer.
Here is my son's room before......
He LOVES Disney's Pixar Cars.......
ALOT......
like, lives and breathes them!!
But his room was so dark and so cluttered and when I presented him with the idea of a shark room he took to it right away.
So I didn't ask again and went to work......
slowly. :)
And after much work and long and drawn out posts about it
here is the
AFTER!!!
The bed and dresser were painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue.
Walls are painted in Glidden Simply White.
The rug was picked up at Walmart for $20 and the gray blanket on his bed is from Target for $14.
I hung two shelves from Lowes on one side of the window and put the PB knock off shark painting and another PB knock off crab painting on them.
The adorable stool is what I picked up from Laurie and Debbie's booth at the Flea Market. Laurie painted it a beautiful white and the top is wicker.
The yellow basket was another purchase from the Flea Market a couple months ago that was supposed to be a pendant light but hubby is "not sure" how to put it up.
hmmmmmm....... ;)
I still have to put up some things on this side of his room.
I have these amazing shark prints that my dear friend Sandra sent me that I will Mod Podge on some canvas and hang and I also want to attempt a barn door for his closet door.
We will see how that goes.
So there you have it, the long awaited, hopefully-not-to-disappointing
shark room!!
Before
After!!!
I love how it turned out, it is so much brighter and just feels cleaner and most importantly,
the boy really likes it. :)

Wow Michelle~
that looks terrific. I bet he loves his new shark room.
At first I thought the paint made it look bigger~ but am learning the importance of furniture placement. I like the way you have it all laid out now.
Did I miss the post about your board and batten wall? I guess that is what its called- only with a different take? ... I love the whole thing-- and certainly do chuckle over that surf board...everytime!
Pat
Amazing Michelle! It's just so much brighter. I will have to lighten up my son's room also. Not much light. Now you have given me an inspiration to do so. You did such a great job. Love that wall!
I LOVE it! And it's so much more "grown up" too... if you can say that about a shark room that is! The driftwood shark is one of my favorite pieces... and of course I couldn't help but notice the egg/produce basket on that stool ;)
~Chris
Oh Michelle! It's absolutely stunning! You totally rocked it out! I'm sure Easton is thrilled, he probably has the coolest boy's room in town!!! It totally looks like it should be in a PB catalogue, I agree. Great colors too, very serene but fun at the same time, it will grow with him as well. Awesome! Will you come and do a wall like that for me?
Love it and YOU!

This is a fantastic transfomation. Just gorgeous. It was worth the wait cause it is just so lovely. My son would love a room like this. My favourite is the surf board with bite. Too cute. Have a great weekend
Great job in transforming the old room to a new one. So true, the transformation made the room wider, cleaner refreshing. Since the natural sunlight has able to bring pass through so as the natural breeze of the cool wind.
Omigosh! It looks so good, you did such a wonderful job with everything!
The room is so bright and fresh, yet still fit for a boy.
The dresser is awesome with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!
You are so talented, love everything about the room!!
It looks A-MA-ZING, Michelle!! Like something out of a designer's catalog. How are you liking the all white walls? I'm thinking of doing that myself.
Amazing transformation! What boy wouldn't dream of having a bedroom like that :D Great job!!!
What an amazing job! I love it all and the surfboard with the bite out of it lol, such a great idea :) x
