Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on my tree! I am having so much fun seeing all of your trees and decor!
Did I ever tell you how much I love this time of year!?
I got a few questions and comments about the sled that you saw in the back ground.
I had been hunting for a sled like that for a while and finally found this one at an auction a few months back for $5!
I was so excited! I was going to put it outside but decided that I would enjoy it more right where it is!
The ice skates were my daughters when she tried her hand, or feet, at ice skating lessons. Those didn't last long but I now I have a memory of her that will I put up every Christmas!
A while ago I posted about some Christmas blog parties that are happening!
Today is Layla's (The lettered Cottage) Christmas Mantel Party so be sure to link up and check out all of the fabulous mantels out there!!
I have been working on my mantel for a while trying to decide what it is that I wanted.
I again tried to stay with the artificially natural theme and came up with this!
I took my inspiration from Laura's, from Finding Home, beautiful Thanksgiving Mantel!
I used a barn wood frame and hung a grapevine wreath in the middle and just dressed
the wreath up with some more evergreen and pine cones.
The stockings were made by my mother-in-law and hung with care! :)
I made the very simple pine cone garland,
(which I was inspired by Lara at Air Kiss, isn't hers just beautiful)
and purchased the more detailed on at Michaels!
I weaved picks of evergreens and pine cones through my metal white pitchers and candle holders. I purchased the red posts at the Restore for a touch of red.
Sorry this was such a long post, I got carried away taking pictures!
I hope you are all happily decorating and thank you all for taking the time
to visit me and leave such wonderful comments about my decor!
I really appreciate it!
In fact, I will be having another giveaway for you this week that will hopefully help with
some Christmas shopping!!

I love your mantel and that wreath is great. Where did you get the mercury balls?
Your mantel looks so pretty. I agree that the mercury glass is is the perfect bit of rustic sparkle with the natural elements.
Digging the mercury and greens together! I love all styles of decorating, but am especially partial to natural theming like yours. Loved your tree too!
Love the mix of the mercury glass with the pinecones. Everything looks really lovely. I love the handmade stockings, I actually made my girls' stockings but I don't think they were done till they were 4 and I started when I was pregnant! The barnwood frame is also really great!
And thanks for the feature!
I have my done mine and took pictures last night and now I am just waiting for at least SOME sun to come out to take some daytime pictures!
Liked the double wreaths on the door in the background! Can't wait to see more!
Have a great day!
Laura
I love your grapevine wreath Michelle...it looks so soft on your mantel and the greenery compliments it so well!
I love your mercury glass and I smiled to see the reflection of you in the glass :)
Your garland finishes off so nicely!!!
Lovely as we all expected!!!

I am loving those mercury glass ornaments. So much so that I am going to run to JoAnn's to see if they have any left. The whole mantel looks gorgeous. Great job.
Gorgeous and I bet it smells so good too.
Of course your mantel is beautiful! It would not be anything different but creative unique and lovely. Your home looks so cozy and peaceful for the holidays.
Your mantel's Christmas decor looks wonderful Michelle! I love all the special touch and detail you added to the entire look. Really love the pine cone garland too. I'm just now getting started on mine.

Using the spindles on the mantle is a really sweet idea, Michelle. And the smell of cinnamon's always welcome :-)
I heart your mantel! Your Christmas decor has a nice flow. That is one thing I struggle with because I like so many different styles. Not always easy to put it all together but you sure have a gift for it.I love the way you framed the wreath. The mercury glass with the natural wreath... perfect!
Thanks for sharing your house! It's beautiful!
I never tire of looking at your photos!! Your posts could be twice a long and I'd till love them!
Your fireplace always looks so cosy in your photos. I bet it's beautiful at night with the fire going.
