Christmas Tree!!!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, I know that I did! I pretty much spent three days straight in my jammies and even did a little Christmas shopping, also in my jammies!

As you know, I have been decorating around the house, some of which I have already shown you, and some of which is still to come!

I told you a little about my tree in my previous post and even showed you tid bits of it.

I am really happy with the way it turned out and I hope that you like it as well!

I have seen trees placed in galvanized tubs all over magazines and throughout blogland so I really wanted to give it a try this year.

I absolutely love the look!!

I simply added a red table cloth inside with just enough color peaking out and set the tree into it!

It fit perfectly!

I tried to stay with a natural theme this year (and by natural, I mean artificially natural, except the pine cones in the wire basket)
The wooden "fork" is usually above the mantle, but that space is being occupied right now so I thought that it look cute against the tree.

I used burlap for a garland as well as strings of berries. There are piks of snow covered evergreens, berries on vines and metal snowflakes on twigs placed throughout.

My topper are branches that I purchased at Michaels that are surrounded by some of the metal snowflakes.

The big red wooden stars I have had for a couple of years and I just love the way the add a little whimsy to the tree.
White poinsettias are scattered through out to add a slight formal touch.

I also went back to Walmart and horded all the remaining "good" mercury glass acorns to hang on the tree!

Tree lit up at night.

And lit up during the day!
(Mr. Curiosity couldn't help himself and had to come check things out)

In the back ground is my mantle, which I will be sharing with you on Tuesday!

I hope you enjoyed my little tree and I cannot wait to see all of yours!!

Happy decorating!!

I will be linking up to the parties in my linky party tab as well as:

I love your tree. Mine is not really me. It is too much and I like simple and nature. I think next year I might have to change it up for fun and not use all of my sentimental stuff and see if I am ok with it. I love the tuv it's in too!

Hi Michelle!
Your tree looks lovely~ so natural and I like how you gave it a 3-dimentinal (sp?) look! The galvanized bucket is perfect for the base.. been thinking about that myself! This hits close to home with the kitty thing - mine LOVES Christmas tree time.. he loves to nap under the tree + drink the water out of the tree base. We'll probably get ours next weekend from a farm.. I am so longing to smell tree! Oh and you know~ my WM was all sold outta those acorn ornaments! Have a nice week ahead!

Hi Michelle,

Guess what? My little girl had a sleep-over last night with a friend who just happened to buy the ice-skates I regretted not buying at the Christmas Fair yesterday.....please tell me I did leave a comment telling you that yesterday...?

She gave them to my daughter (with NO input from me, I hasten to add!). Can you believe it? My daughter gave them to me today and I squeaked with excitement!!

So I DO have my very own pair now. We can be ice-skating twins.

Now where can I find me a sledge just like yours!?

Sarahx

PS I love your tree - and the galvanized bucket is lush too.

Looks really lovely! I love the oversized stars, they really balance everything out. I am jealous you got so much jammie time, not much of that around here, but it is all good! Hope you enjoy your week and I can't wait to see your mantle. I am working on mine tomorrow.

Take care, Laura

Hi Michelle,
Loving your contry look to your tres. The touch of cranberry red, and the stars are the perfect touch. Love the sled against the wall. You know one year I did a tree for a Model home and placed a sled on the floor and set the tree in a wood box that sat on top of the sled and piled the gifts all around it.

The tree placed in a wooden box and then the box and tree on top of the sled gave the boxed tree this stage like feeling. it was a big hit in this French country farm house.

Love the inspiration over here :)
I will post my very different tree of art, when I get some gifts wrapped :)

See you soon dear.
xx
Cheers
Dore

Hi Michelle! Oh, every time I open a new post from you it just gets better and better! Your tree is absolutely beautiful and has so much charm and character! My parents must have been ahead of their time because one year my dad got so frustrated with the tree stand that he put the tree in a metal bucket and stuck some bricks inside to keep the tree up! LOL! I still have vivid memories of my sister and I trying so hard not to laugh but not succeeding at all! :-)
Yours looks a million times better!

Your tree looks so pretty! And I adore the metal tub - it looks so perfect holding your tree! And of course I love all touches of red. I tree's not a tree without a little red in my mind anyway.

p.s. could you hop on over to my house! I'm not at all happy with my tree. It's sad, and could use your stylish touch!

Your tree looks amazing! I like all the natural elements and the twigs are a great touch! The whole room looks so cheery and bright! I have been looking all over creation for our wood sled. I think hubby might have tossed it in our move. Boo :( Oh, and there's the galvanized metal bucket I've been drooling over. Gonna try it!

Have a great week!

Michelle, the way you wrapped it, instead of draping, in the fiber garland... there's something comforting & homey about it. Like a holiday hug :-)

What a beautiful job you did on your tree! It IS so YOU! Pretty and fun! :) You really have a stylist's eye. The sled, tin bucket, and sled next to the tree make such a great vignette, girlie! Love it all!!! (and I love the fact that you shop in your jammies! lol!) Hugs!

Your tree is gorgeous. I'm loving the natural look and you nailed it with the burlap garland, pinecones, rustic red stars, and little bits of sparkle with the mercury acorns.

Don't you love shopping in your pajamas. It's my fav way to get through the list.

Love love love all your Christmas decor Michele! I get soo torn sometimes because I love so many different themes! I use to be more rustic but then started getting fancier but now am wanting a vintage tree. Maybe one day I will have several trees! Also love your old sled! My mom just gave me her old sled from when she was a child. I have it in the foyer.
