Where I've Been

I can't believe it is Wednesday already!!
This week is flying by and I still have a bajillion things to do!!

It has been HOT and HUMID here which is fine because I have been holed up inside this week working on my son's room.

I will show you a few glimpses in a minute but I first want to show you where I went last Sunday.
It was that time again for the Allegan Flea Market so Laurie, from Heaven's Walk, and myself, Debbie from Lakehouse was not able to join us this time and we MISSED her lots!!
BUT
she will join us again at the end of this month!
YEAH!!!

Before I went, Heather from Simple Daisy told me that she and her hubby might go. I can't even tell you how excited I was and immediately told her YES, PLEASE GO and gave her my number to call when she got there so we could meet up!!

When she got there Laurie and I were stuffing our faces with pizza. I know how much Heather loves pizza so I don't think that she minded. :)

Her and her husband are the sweetest and cutest couple and Heather is so beautiful inside and out.

We only met up for a couple minutes because they had plans that day but the four of us are planning on all meeting up at the end of this month for the day!!!
I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!

I scored a few things again this time around including this pale aqua bench, basket and more of the little aqua bottles that I got last month.

Another perfect find I picked up after Laurie spotted it was this turquoise fan!!!!
I think it was $20 and after the poor lady selling it told us she was going to cry (I think that the lady ahead of us insisted she pay way less for something)
So I didn't dare ask for any less.
Poor woman.

I also picked up a vintage map and a wire basket that I am planning to use in my son's room so I will show you those once I get them up.

Here is a little peak into his room.
I used chalk paint for the first time and I LOVE IT!!!!
It is Nepoleonic Blue.

I also used the wax and messed that up a bit.
Just remember, a little goes a long way!!

You can see in the background what I am doing to one of his walls.
I am really loving the way it is turning out.

Well that's about it for now. I am so sorry I have not been around to see you much this week and hopefully after I get the wall done I will catch up a bit.

I have been a bit off this week as well, I have some changes going on in my life, nothing serious and actually it is a good thing, but enough to change things up and mess with me a bit.
I will share more about that when I can.

Hugs!!

Bloggy Friends and Fun Finds

Hello loverlies!!
I hope you had a great weekend!
I had a
FABULOUS
weekend!!
Why you ask?

Well because of these two beautiful ladies..

Laurie from Heaven's Walk and Debbie from The Lakehouse.

We met up in a near by town that hosts a large Flea Market on the last Sunday of the summer months.
It was a PERFECT day.

We joked about how we would find each other and Laurie told me that she would be the one holding the "CRASH" sign.....
She wasn't joking! :)
Of course we forget to take the photo of the sign, but it was funny!
"Crash" would be because of all the wonderful things that I listed in a post a while ago that I have backed into with my car. :)

Do you ever feel like you know someone the moment you meet?
That is how it felt, like we have been friends for a long time, yes, we talk online a lot but just having that feeling of knowing someone and feeling comfortable is a great feeling.
And the two of them have been friends for a long time, sisters separated at birth I believe I was told. :)
I loved it!
And can I just say that they are
gorgeous
and so sweet and so much fun to shop with and just be around.
And let me tell you,
these ladies know how to shop!!! :)

Laurie purchasing her grain sack runner.
(love the couch too)

Debbie scored a beautiful birdcage.

Laurie found this beautiful door. She was trying to decide if it would fit in her front door but after talking with hubby, they decided that it may not fit and not worth the risk.

We also tried talking her into wash tubs for either beverages or flowers (I should have taken a picture of one) but no go.
Don't worry there is next month!!
Mmmwwwwaaaaahahahhahhah!!!!!

Ok, if you have not tried fried pickles you are missing out my friends!!!
There are DELICIOUS!!!
Don't ya love how they set up our little table with Lauries pot and napkins?!
They are such bloggers!!! ;)

They both scored some really beautiful things so you have to go check out their stash when they post about it!
Just click here and here!

I picked up a few things, not too much since I am leaving on vacation soon, but I managed to score these little beauties!

A gorgeous aqua ladder that has the perfect distressing and worn look.
A kitchen scale that I have been looking for, only $10!
Beautiful aqua bottles that look like sea glass.

One of the bottles had some kind of iridescent material on it. I tried to take a photo below but it was hard to get it to sparkle.

I also picked up two little swans, I love swans.
There was a beautiful swan there that was made out of paper mache that looked like wood but it was $34!
Really?? $34!!!
Oh well, maybe next month.

My scale found a home on the kitchen counter.

mmmmmm, perfect colors!!
I found a home for the ladder as well but it is raining today and dark in the part of the kitchen that it is so I will have to show you another time.

The bottles found a spot in my bedroom on the the mantel, again too dark to get nice pictures but I did have fun with this picture.
The tag is one that Laurie made for me, they are so cute!

THANK YOU
SO
much Laurie and Debbie for a special day, I loved meeting you and I look forward to next month!!!!!

Well my friends, this is my last post for a couple weeks.
We are headed to Glen Lake and internet up there is not-so-much.
SO, I will see you in a bit and I hope you all have a wonderful time and
Happy 4th of July!!!!

I will miss you!!

p.s. I will be guest posting at 3 Sun Kissed Boys while I am out but I will let you know what day I will be there. :)

A Treasured Day!

I am headed to Sand and Sea Sunday again!!
We spent a cloudy and on-the-verge-of-a-storm afternoon at the beach earlier this week and had fun playing in the sand, feeding the seagulls and walking along the shore.

These were all taken with my phone so they aren't the best quality.

I just love watching storms roll in over the lake.

Right now as I speak I am heading to a giant flea market to meet up with these beautiful ladies!

Laurie from Heaven's Walk

Debbie from Lakehouse

I am SO excited to finally meet them and see how some serious treasure hunting is done! :)

Busy Weekend

This weekend was very busy and tiring..... but productive!! While I went to work on Saturday morning (icky), my hubby was nice enough to go get the hardboard from Lowes.

We cut 3 sheets down to 4" wide stripes that were 4' in length (Lowes was nice enough to cut the 4' x 8' pieces into 4' x 4' which made it ALOT easier to handle when cutting)

Note to self - probably shouldn't weat flip flops while cutting large peices on the table saw. It was VERY messy!!!

Anyway, we got them cut down and hubby helped me put the first few up and off I went....

Before....

During......

AFTER!!!!!
Well, sort of, I still have to paint it.

I have to tell you that it took me a little over 6 hours to put all this up and I was so exhausted I couldn't even lift my arms up anymore (thank God for the nail gun though!)

It was about 7:30 when we finished up. I cleaned up, got supper.....

mmmmmm, Honey Combs!!!

Later, got me some vino, sat on the couch and watched 'The Backup Plan' with the hubby!

Way cute movie by the way.

Sunday morning we got up and went to the flea market with some friends. I loved it! It was a little overwhelming at first but quickly made myself comfortable and even starting bargaining!

Ok, I bargained for one thing and it was only $2 less than what they were asking, but hey!

I was really excited when I found this self right at the start! I have been wanting one of these to go above the bed. Nothing really special about it, which is what I liked, very simple.

I also found this great little Pet Milk Co. box and this large metal can that will look great in the kitchen!!!

All in all I thought that I did pretty good at the flea market and may have to go back next month now that I know what to expect.

This week I need to paint the new wall, finish up with the cabinets, start to repaint my hutch and then start on all the decorating details!!

That is my favorite part!!
