This weekend had a little bit of everything for me. It started on Friday when I went to Hobby Lobby and browsed their clearance section and found these great little pieces...
A large candleholder for $4!
This cute little lighthouse! I did pay $8 for it but it was the right height for what I had in mind.
Both of these pieces, of course, were SCREAMING "PAINT ME!!"
SO....
My husband, son and daughter quickly went to try out the tag-along that we borrowed from my sister-in-law. He tends to cringe when I get out the paint.
I dug into my collection of spray paint. I chose a cream color for the candle holder and a basic white for the light house.
Put the them both into a box because......
my other projects tend to make their mark on the driveway....
oops!
While they were drying we decided to go to our county fair for some of the best junk food EVER.....
ELEPHANT EARS!!!!!
After our bellies were full we went back home and I finished putting the finishing touches on my pieces.
I sanded them a bit and on the candle holder I placed a cute little aqua ribbon with a starfish ornament that my mom bought me a while ago.

Great finds! I had an elephant ear at the fair on Thursday :P
Aren't you a smart one for putting your projects inside a box? That is so clever and I'm pretty sure that we all have traces of projects past around our homes :)

Thanks Sara! I missed the tulip time elephant ears so I had to get one before the fair left!
Rene - Yeah, I finally wised up after getting the evil eye from my husband. :)
Kristin - thank you for stopping by, it means a lot!
Love the lighthouse! Even liked it "rusty". The box idea is so cool!!
Those look great! I love your little spray booth! Very clever I must say.
Hi Michelle~
First of all, everytime I see your pic, I say to myself "she looks SO familiar!" ~ I think I had a client back when I was working that looked just like you! :) Oh~ your candleholders turned out great! I love the one with the starfish tied to it. Great tool box! I'm on the lookout for a big one like that, too! Thank you for your sweet comment!

That elephant ear about did me in. I am SO hormonal today!! Those finds turned out great. Amazing what a little paint can do.
Using the box for spray paint is really clever. I have to remember that. Love what you did with the 2 pieces. I am getting very inspired by what you do!
