A while ago I took the closet doors off my son's closet thinking that I was going to do something spectacular with curtains or other doors.
Well, I never did.
His closet just sits there open to the world, full of messy shoes, close that he pulls of the hangers and cars, cars, cars!!
We had tucked the old doors in our shed until I had something better to do with them.
I posted yesterday about my sweet friend Deborah from With all my Heart....Deborah and her gorgeous shelf that her and her hubby made from old shutters.
She inspired me to go get those doors out of storage and do something with them.
So I hauled them out
Gave them a couple coats of white paint
Distressed the heck out of them!
(I got a little frustration out with the chain and screw driver)
I have this little corner in my living room where the chase lounge is. This is my favorate corner, esprcailly when we have the fire going.
But there is also this big, ugly box that sits there.
A subwoofer I am told it is called.
I have no idea what it does but hubby says it make the sounds "really cool" when we watch movies or something like that.
See it back there?
I tried putting pictures on it to make it look like a table but it was still ugly!
So,
I covered it,
with my bi-fold doors!
I really like how the screen turned out. It adds height to my little corner and best yet, it covers up the ugly woofer box!!
I still have two more doors left and I am thinking of adding one more to the screen to make it a little wider.
So that was my big tease!
Not a huge project but its purpose was much needed.
I will be linking up with the linky parties on the top tab

I want some of these! I absolutely love these Michelle - tell me how you used the chain and screwdriver of them to distress them. I would love to know! have a wonderful day!
Your screen looks awesome! Great way to hide a necessary eyesore. I'm wondering if I could make a room size one...LOL!
Genius Michelle! I love the way you distressed them too, it really adds a cottage feel. And best of all you can push them to the side if Hubby needs to get to his woofer thingy. We all know we have to keep them happy;) Really great job, tami from the high street cottage
Fabulous and great way to cover up a man object!
I think your screen look great! Really pretty! The perfect solution for hiding the big speaker. Why are boys toys so ugly? :)
BTW, I think your whole room is lovely!
Wow! So cool! Great idea for covering up those speakers. Distressing is tons of fun!

Love this. Great way to hide the black box! But my hubby would say something like, it's muffling the sound! Boys and their toys.
Love the screen!!! Woofers aren't pretty, haha. Had one in my last home, but never set it up here, just didn't find the space to hide it.
Michelle! That was such a great idea and I absolutely love how it looks in your room! You are one creative lady! :-)

Awesome! It looks great!! :)
Over-the-top gorgeous!!
It looks so great in that corner and the fact that it covers the woofer (lol) is just the bonus!

Just so you!!! :)

The screen looks terrific in that spot and really adds a good vertical to the room. What a transformation - so nicely done. Will look forward to seeing more. (Are bloggers ever satisfied?) Jane F
Girl, you did great! Love that it hides big ole speakers so beautifully. Great job!
I have 2 of those doors and have been trying to decide how hard it would be to hinge them together. Did you find that to be very hard? They look great!!!!
Really cleans up the corner, good job.
Susanne.
I love the creative way you covered the woofer ...!!
Looks fabulous ..it's definitely creating on a dime perfection !!!

Girly you are incredible. I love how you roughed them up, real good, and then put them in the corner. lol. I also have one of those box thingies, and I think my husband would die before he let me do something like that, erghhh, but at least I have hope that it could be made prettier. Just need to find the perfect solution, wish it was as simple as yours. :)
Also I want to THANK you for leaving such sweet comments, on my BODY FOR LIFE, and features posts. I really know that all the support I am getting will carry me to the end, and I can't thank you guys enough for that. Only 13 pounds to go, till I reach the goal weight I set. :)

Hey Michelle,
These look brilliant. I LOVE it that you covered up your husband's box!! What does he think? Some technology is sooooo ugly.
I think you should design your own range of speakers for the tv!!!

Great idea AND they look terrific! I had the very same sub woofer issue. But I hid mine with a chair. Boys and their toys, right?! :•)
What is it about men and their electronics?! LOL They are just not pretty! I love your way of hiding the "guy stuff"!
You just inspired me to do the same. What is it with guys and electronics?! Looks fantastic!
What adifference a screen makes. Everything looks great in your little corner and you did a great job with the screen.
Hope you are enjoying your week and I also love the photo in your header.

Love the screen, I made one out of shutters and use it to hid our stationary bike that sits in a corner of the living room! I, also, like the long shelf in you LR that's an beautiful touch.
What a wonderful idea! I feel ya on the sub woofer thingy...I have thesame problem in my living room...Hmmm. Maybe I can findsome bi-fold doors somewhere...
So beautiful! LOVE your room. The bi-fold screen works perfectly in the corner. Great idea :)

hehe.. that will teach hubby to put something ugly but cool sounding in the living room!! ;O) Looks fabulous!!!
Great idea! Love how you distressed the doors- the look awesome in your room.

What a lovely corner!
I am thinking of getting a 2 panel shutter louvre fitted to my sliding door where one shutter will pass the other when opening. Will this take up alot of space outside the existing door frame and do I have to have a track mounted on the floor to suport the shutters? I am concerned that this track on the floor could be a hazard and will also look untidy. I have tiles on the floor. Is there any other methods or hardware that could be used to avoid this. The size of the existing door is height 1.2m and 1.4 wide.
Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
bifold doors
Fabulous idea!
